Just found this site, hope someone can help.
I work for an outfit where the mechanic doesn't "know a lot but I've done a lot." His words. Anyway, I use a Toro 72 inch power reel mower on athletic fields. Lately I have been having trouble with very little power to the front reels (three front and two rear) which is causing obvious striping. The rear reels run fine. Yes Mr. Mechanic, I greased the rollers. The "striping" is due to the front reels running at about a fourth the speed of the rear reels and simply do not turn fast enough to cut the turf.
I have always found that knowing it myself makes life easier and I don't mind asking for help from knowledgeable folks. I would be grateful if someone could make some suggestions that I could point the mechanic to. I retired and started doing commercial work a couple of years ago so I'm still learning this field.
Thanks in advance,
Richard
