]I did a large cleanup for a new customer without a contract the job was for 500.00 dollars it was a gift for her sister and now she won't pay . not because the job was'nt done well she just won't pay what can I do. I'm going to take a bill to her sister to give to her I've talked to her on the phone she said she would pay me but still no pay

Take her to small claims court... Document discussions that you have with her and back up with cell phone records if possible. Bring a witness if you ask her about paying.

it never ceases to amaze me how unthoughful and rediculous these people are. Now on these small jobs i write "I accept" and a line for their sig., make them sign it and get the money up front or atleast 1/2 the money. Anyone not willing to pay atleast 1/2 upfront or sign an agreement is not a customer you need.

How long has it been since you billed her? What was her reason for not paying?

Premier, many states have a law that says you can't ask for more than 10% upfront. Not sure if yours is one of them. Probably wouldn't be a problem anyway, but just a heads up.
