  • coner lots?

Just bid on and got a lawn that is a corner lot. I bid it just like any other lawn but i know ive read before that you should charge more for corner lots, but nobody ever said why.How come you should charge more?

    Come on man

Corner lots are generally bigger with longer sidewalks. More mowing, more edging, more blowing. I hope you're kidding with this one.

Somebody had to answer that one.

I never heard that corner lots cost more then any other, but the only thing that comes to mind is perhaps most corner lots may be larger in sq footage....

I lived in Cobleskill a long time ago, and wonder if your name could perhaps be Briggs....

I knew a Dick Briggs that worked in G.E, and his sons name was Sean....

That wouldn't be you ,would it????

Regardless of that i`m curious if you have any competition up there??? I don't remember "Lawn Service" even existing in that town when i lived there....

I made Tons of money during the winter time selling fire wood in the winter time... I might have a lead on a guy that would provide you with wood free, making your profits as close to 100 percent as possible, or at a very reasonable price, if your ever interested....

Cobleskill, boy that brings back memories, and what a small world to find someone else from that place on here....

I remember when you were lucky if you could get a picture on your T.V set in that old town....

      Sincerly,TRANNY.......

The last time i was up there was about a year and a half ago ,for a funeral of a high school buddy....

He lived in Carlisle, the little town about 6 miles Nort-east of cobleskill...

I Didn't have extra time to hang around, but i wanted to visit some of the old bars in the town that i hung out in during college season when i was in my late teens....

That was a rocking town during college season...

Thank God that town had SUNY Cobleskill college dropped in its lap ,or it really would have been a ghost town ,that nobody would have ever heard of...

When i get some time i`ll send you a private message, so being your new to the forum make sure you`r mailbox isn't full , and we can chat ,and talk about the old place.....

Anyway , welcome to the forum ,and i`ll be sending you a message shortly...

I have a lot of buddies up there that probably don't want to cut their lawns due to their getting older.... I may be able to swing you some customers...

Keep an eye out for a P.M

          LATER ON,TRANS...........

Generally mowing for a street corner property provides your company with great visibility. If it is a well-maintained lawn consider placing a metal sign in the lawn next spring to help generate new business. Corner lots are far more visible than properties tucked away at the end of the street. Therefore, you might consider charging just as much as you would for the other lawn in the same area to assure you'll get the job.

I myself started mowing one corner lawn in a upscale neighborhood last year. Just one year later I am now mowing 6 lawns on the same street........all because the residents took notice of the high degree of workmanship I did on that one initial lawn.

Basically it was cheap advertising......I didn't even place a sign in the lawn......

if your measure everything the cost should be the same. perhaps all the leaves in the neighborhood blow into the corners house????? it all should be good if you measure and charge your company rates. shoal

From my experience, corner lots get alot of leaves in the fall. You might want to keep this in mind when giving them a quote for fall cleanup.

The increased cost is not necessarily in the mowing but there is double the street frontage on a corner lot... therefore, double the curb edging, double the sidewalk edging, double the blowing.

Just use your formula for sqare foot mowing, linear trimming, linear edging, and sq ft blowing and you will see that corner lots DO require more labor and time.
