  • Steeeeeeep hill.

Hey everyone... Haven't been on here for about a year, and had a question. We recently picked up a rather large account (12 apartment complexes), and we are also doing the owner of these properties' home (for about half the normal charge!). Well... This yard is on the river, and has about a 25' high hill going down to a bulkhead. The hill is about a good 50-60 degree angle, about 80' wide, and St Augustine grass. We've been doing it with a string trimmer, but there has GOT to be a better way! Hasn't there? It was tolerable before doing it every 2 weeks, but the customer now wants it weekly, and of course doesn't want to pay more. We're in a tight situation there due to the commercial accounts that we can't afford to lose since they make up almost half our monthly income at the moment.

Any suggestions on a better (easier) way to mow a hill like this??? I'm gonna have heart failure doing it in this FL heat every week.

Oh... And replacing the grass with mulch or deco stone is out of the question. The guy wants it to be lawn, and even put (unnecessary)irrigation on the hill.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

A Husqvarna hover mower will help.

It's been a while since I looked at them. I believe they can be had for around $500.

That is EXACTLY what I need!!! Not just for that hill, but all the other yards with bulkheads, slopes, and hills from badly ground tree stumps that we have to string trim.

They seem to run around $550 and the model is HVT52 If I had the money I'd be on it now. It would definitely be worth it to eliminate so much time and effort. Why doesn't Murray make one that Wally World can sell for $129.99!!!

And I thought I was being messed with when I read that. LOL Wonder if I could make one with a small lawn mower engine and a upside down kitty litter box... Hmmm... Lawn mower handle, reinforce the bottom with wood to mount the engine, buy blade/impeller from Husky. LOL

4 Wheel Drive Hydraulic Slopemaster for large areas. For smaller hills Jack D. had a Honda 21" UM series imported from the UK.
