Hey all, was wondering if anyone knows about the redmax7001 backpack blower, or an Echo that is comparable. I'm looking to stay at $400.00 right now, but not too sure which one is best price, quality, and comfort. It will be used mainly for blow offs, and some leaf cleanups. I currently use a crapsman hand held, but I'm ready to graduate to the real stuff. Currently I use all Echo trimmers and edgers and havent had any problems, but i noticed they seem heavier, and louder than some others. Thanks for any help

Redmax is better
than Echo, 8000/8001 is the best backpack on market, 7001 is second, then Echo's strongest BP. However I know a lot of guys who run Echo and it's all quality stuff. Both the highest power Echo and the 7001+ should be competent for the work you're doing.

I prefer Stilh. because they are very lite. and still have great power. I have the big Echo but it is a heavy blower. I use to Have Echo period but I have been switch over to stih for a few years. I Have problems with the thottle cables. but as far as their equipment goes they are a prove company it is just Stihl fits my needs better. I have never used red max but have heard very good thing about them on this forum as well as out there in the field.

I like the redmax... i have the 8000 my old partner has 7001 ... id go with the 7001 if your doing mostly residential .. but if you are blowing off large parking lots you might think about the 8000 if you dont mind the extra weight...the 7001 is in your price range and gets the job done nicely
