Didn't you just start this thread yesterday?

It won't work because you won't be able to turn.

      ...or walk behind it
We do the impossible, because it limits the competition

why wouldn't you be able to push down on the handles to lift the areator to turn thats what i was thinking

Push down on the mower handles? There is no possible way. It would be way too heavy. You couldn't push down on the handles with a mower deck on the machine could you? The aerator would be heavier than a deck.

by taking off the mower deck you could mount it in the decks place use a mud flap to keep the cores from being kicked up on the motor?

Oh...I though he was talking about removing the deck and mounting the aerator in it's place.

              What are you talking about?

I'd be interested to see, but I think it would be too difficult to turn.

These days walkbehind aerators go as fast as you can walk.

I've seen a pull behind core aerator for a ZTR before. I happened to be servicing the yard across the street and was amazed. It didn't look heavy enough to really get deep but after I walked over there to take a look I noticed that it pulled 4" deep cores. The guy who had it built it himself. He was only about 18 or 19 years old to boot. He said he just pulled it as he cut and got both fees ( for the cut and for the core aeration). Now that is what I call being economical.

Yeah...I once thought about it, then realized it wouldn't work well. Don't use a spike-type aerator.....they won't aerate the soil at all. In fact, they only help compact it further.

I've used one hooked up to the sulky hitch in the back. You have to walk a little awkward, but if it is all you have...
