I have a few residential acounts that all have fences and want to get a 36 WB. After pricing the Exmark 36 Hydro (Turf Tracer I think) at around 5000 I know I can't afford that. I thought I had decided on getting the Quick 36 Hydro until the Exmark dealer called and is having a 36 Viking belt drive shipped in for me to look at and demo. He was not familiar with the Quick 36 and assumed it would have a single Hydro which he said he did not like. Which should I get? Is their maybe another brand in the $2500 that I should consider? Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that the Viking has 2 hydro pumps and wheel motors while the Q36" has one. Please be advised that the Viking has a proper mulch kit avail. while the Q36" does not.
The Viking requires zero manhandling to operate and will do much better on slopes.
The Q36" is much less expensive and good value for the dollar.

Ok I just got off the phone and you are correct, it would be an '05 36" Exmark Metro. The dealer said he would sell it to me for somewhere around $2400. So I guess my question for you with the experiance to answer it would be which to choose, the 36 belt drive Metro or the Hydro Quick 36. Both will be similiar in price. This will be my primary mower for resdential lawns. I am going tomorrow to look at the Metro. Thanks for your time.

I have a 36" Metro. Over the 2 years I've owned it nothing drastic has happened to it. It cuts clean and will always go up any slope despite how steep they might be. I'd suggest paying extra for the ECS control option though.
Hydro WBs are more productive than gear drive WBs. I have no experience with the Quick36, so I cannot offer any advice on it.
I'm sure the Quick36 is a great mower, but they need to start marketing them away from the internet and placing them in dealerships.
Keep in mind you have an Exmark dealer near you if/when your mower needs repair or parts.

We've got the Exmark Metro 36" with a Pro One two wheel sulky. Love that thing. Only bugs me when it's wet and slips or trying to reverse... Had to do that today. You gotta get off the sulky, and kinda duck walk it backwards.
Watch out for that 5th gear though... I know it's 6MPH, but it feels more like 15, and it will throw you in a sharp turn. Fun though.
Also if you wind up with the pistol grip controls (most of them seem to have ECS now) you gotta move your hips turning corners or the grips will catch you somewhere personal. LOL
