  • Anything bad on Scag?

I have read all the good on here about scag, but have not seen to much bad on them. If anyone has any complaints with their scag please let me know, thinking of buying one.

try roundup or blue star jack d......... sorry to mess with your post georgialandscaper. go for dealer support in your area. i chose exmark over scag for this very reason. i am sure scag is a good mower. it was my second choice when i started. jack d. sorry about the genital issue............

Expensive parts and most dealers advertise "free loaners" then tack the loaner onto your repair bill......be carefull

Scag is an excellent machine and I own a 3 month old 61" Turf Tiger.

BUT PARTS DELIVERY SUCKS WEST OF THE ROCKIES. It has taken 3 LOUSEY WEEKS to get anything from Scag. I like to pay 2nd day Air, but Scag DOESN'T CARE ABOUT MAKING TIMELY DELIVERIES EVEN WITH A 2ND DAY AIR REQUEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? ???????????????????????????

If I were you, find another machine unless you are a glutton for punishment like myself. There is a reason Exmark makes their parts guarantee; and I don't know anybody who has recieved free parts!!!!!!

But Scag makes an excellent machine.

I have my gravely serviced at a scag dealer and to get parts for my kawasaki motor was 3 weeks as well. Tried out two different scag dealers and no better.

I currently own two scags one is a 1995 48" wb with probably 2000 hrs and have not had any problems. The other is a 2004 48" tiger cub and I have gone through 4 belts and 4 idler springs, all under warranty. There was a problem with the springs from the factory but the dealer where I bought it would have the parts waiting when I showed up. After the second time he sent me home with 3 of each as spares. Great equipment.

I am on my 5th Scag. No problems at all. I think the parts issue is a dealer problem and not a factory problem. I always get the parts I need really quick.

My scags are fine not much to complain about except maybe the weight. If i do need a part the dealer can get it fairly quick. Now if i have to leave the mower at the dealer for a repair they are really slow. They told me it was a two week wait to get a belt issue looked at(which turned out to just be a missing washer on a pulley). Btw the scag dealer is also the exmark dealer so i didnt have many options.

I would normally agree with you on that, but my Scag dealer is also my Exmark dealer. I get all of my Exmark parts yesterday, but not the Scag parts. That's the problem!!! What gives with this scenerio?
