Has anyone tried door to door sales and how well has it worked if you have. Also if you have tried it and it has or hasnt worked please tell me what kind of technique you were using. Thanks

i was handing out flyers for snow removal and would ring the doorbell and if they answered, than i would tell them more about it... it worked pretty good.. i had at least 6 people call so far off of like 200 flyers.. so it beats 1%... other than that, i just recently started having one of the guys on my crew walk down the street and offer $25 gutter cleaning if we were finishing up a job.. i did this twice and both were on weekdays in the afternoon so most people were at work.. but i am tempted to spend a whole day offering nothing but door-to-door gutter cleaning

Hi N.TX,
I think the most important part of it is just meeting people. Let them see how nice of a guy you are and then hand them a flyer to call you when they need the service done. You have a better chance of turning someone into a customer whom you have met versus someone you haven't.
