I don't know what the leaves are like in other states but here in Michigan with the oaks and maples it is not as simple as running them over with a mower. Not to mention the fact that most of my clients want the leaves gone. No matter how hard you try you will never suck up all the mulched leaves. I use Red Max 7000-7001 b/p blowers and little wonder walk behind blowers. Blow them to the side of the road or drive and suck them up with a debris loader. I very seldom touch a rake. I know people say the loaders are to expensive but if you check around and keep you eyes open you can find really good deals. I have a Billy Goat I paid $150.00 for and a Lesco lt 130 I paid $600.00 for. I'm sorry to say a lot of companies don't make it in this business and when they go under they sell their equipment pretty cheap!. Their loss is your gain.

Liveoak, wateroak, redoak, whiteoak, blackjackoak, sweetgum, hickory, sycamore, magnolia, pecan, cherry, black walnut, buckeye, dogwood, longleaf pine & & & spanish moss. Plus grass & some winter weeds. I make it all vanish right before your eyes. Nothing to bag & nothing to haul away.
For you kind competitors who have other opinions that's your misfortune 'cause if you're gonna be dumb you better be tuff.
I promise to never speak on this topic or any other dealing with leaves. One day you'll get away from that horse & buggy thinking .................................

i guess i will stay dumb and keep riding the horse and buggy. you can get by with your logic up here maybe the last 2 weeks of october and if you are real lucky the 1st week in november. after that forget it. if you mulch them it looks like ****. i did one today and still had to blow them . my 5th time at the site for leaves and it was also a weekly cut.Originally posted by BlakeLiveoak, wateroak, redoak, whiteoak, blackjackoak, sweetgum, hickory, sycamore, magnolia, pecan, cherry, black walnut, buckeye, dogwood, longleaf pine & & & spanish moss. We have just as big trees down here on the south as yall have in the north. A tree is a tree, don't matter if its in the south than in the north. I would actually rather mulch the bigger leaves than the smaller ones. If mulched the right way, I can make any size leaf job look like there was never a leaf on the yard.
I've never bagged a leaf for a customer since I've been in buissness. (and never plan to) If your not using double blades with your mulch kit, try it.

I have never bagged a leaf either. I guess I'll still stick with the horse and buggy as well. I've owned my business for over 10 years and have tried every way there is to do clean ups. Including mulching (which is the way I did it before getting the debis loaders) I'll stick with the loaders and won't mulch again.

In some areas, mulching may be a functional recourse for fall cleanups. This is not a choice for many of us. Anyone can check this page and give us his proof of mulching being the total answer to all leaf cleanup anywhere in the country.
To remove leaves most efficiently, use something like this system after you have used backpack blowers, wheel blowers, or tarps to get the leaves to a pickup point.

nice system and thanks for the back up on mulching. don't worry you won't die holding your breath for the pictures. i have actually did a yard this past november and in one day it was covered again thicker than when i did it the first time. mulching don't work when they get thick unless you just don't give a damn about how your work looks.Originally posted by GroundKprsSorry, wrong link in post above. Here's the Leaf Removal System.
