If you want to really start over, my name is Elwood, not ELMO or anything else. I am more than willing to help anyone, if I have the information to do so and I am also very willing to debate any issue, in a friendly tone, to see all angles of any particular topic. If anyone gets rude with me, no holds barred, but I do like this place and the people here, including Grassmaster and his wonderful gift basket program.

While I don't have all the answers, how I do things work, for me anyway. Others here do things differently and it works for them. Hopefully our conversations in the future will be peaceful.

I live in a small market, pretty small actually. I bought a failing business in 1996, turned it around, basically ruled my area (the competition are total idiots). I had every commerical site in the nothern end of the county with the exception of a few small ones, many larger country lawns and plenty of smaller residential lawns. I offered full service to mow-n-go and everything in between. Not a bad business for the market I am in, but the fact that I would never get to where I wanted to get in a depressed area, that was getting worse was praying on my mind. In 2002, one of my competitors wanted to become partners. I told him that I was not much of a "co-captain", but rather the "captain" type. He offered to buy me out. The price was right, the local economy was starting to slid, so I took his money and ran. The kicker is, this guy hates to do bookwork and loves to cut grass. Long story short, he mows with one crew, oversees my two crews, subs out most of the fert and squirt and bush trimming and I oversee his books, make sure his is productive, sells properly, is efficient enough and basically making good money. In return, I get a percentage. Since my "retirement", I have invested in the only good economical thing going in this town, rental properties. Plenty of them too. What I acutally do with my hours thru the day is farm on the family farm. A good life and money flows in like water flowing down stream. My wife is a Pharmacist, so we pay the bills with her salary and every dime I make goes toward the kids college, investments and retirement.

Seriously considered moving, but for now have decided to stay here. My plans are to retire at 55 with beach front property somewhere and have a very easy life from there. If we do decide to move, a friend of mine who is in the construction business can manage my rentals and I can do the lawn care books online.

No, I don't cut grass for a living anymore, but I manage the books for those who do and they paid me and still pay me very well for doing what I do.

I don't go out and sweat pushing a mower all day, I push the pencil and make sure others can eat. In other words, I make sure idiots can pay the light bill each month because they are in such bliss over pushing that lawn mower, that they don't care to know how to run a business.

If you find any flaws with how I make others, including myself successful, speak up. I am all ears.

Probably what really is behind his little man syndrome is the fact that the old ladies across the street he talked about keep turning to his 17 yr old helper for advise, because that kid looks much smarter then the old smuck who couldn't keep up with the modern printing machines and got canned from the job after 22 yrs

This joker has been running around like a jerk for days now and i`v never read such compacted useless garbage in the serious areas of this forum since i joined and became a member...

Then he asks Elwood a question as if he`s gonna act normal and basically spits in his face with the back of the bus B.S!!!

All i heard from this joker was he`s so smart , he`s so good looking , he`s so great ,at not paying taxes and is probably a scammer, but considering all the garbage i read that spilled from his keyboard absolutely nothing helpful was there when it comes to running a business or making grass greener...
