    Hello guys,

I stumbled upon this website a month ago and have really enjoyed the information that everyone offers. I currently attend the University of Georgia. On the side I do local landscape jobs. I will be graduating next year with a B.A. in Landscape Management with a minor in Turfgrass Management. I wanted everyone’s advice as what to do when I graduate? Should I work for a company for a year and then go out on my own or should I try and start up my own company. If I do work for a company should I work for a big company such as Brickman or Valleycrest or should I go for a medium size company? I really have been torn about this for sometime. I would really appreciate any advice.

I'd work for the most money at any company for a year or two until I got some good OJT, connections, and find out where to buy what, then move along.

DJM...I posted a response to your same question over in the landscaping section.

I would agree with Scott. First hand experience in whatever direction you take in this industry will help you emensely when/if you decide to form your own company. Just remember you'll likely learn more from a medium sized company than a large one....
