When you say ( illegal stuff ) that's rather broad. Illegal as in pesticides, running without ins, no business license, etc. Now if you're saying an occasional cash gig comes along, hell, very few out there that won't hide one of them every once in a while. Especially when you feel the government is digging too deep in your pocket as it is.

i try and stay away from the big stuff just because if you get caught your screwd. but a company an employee used to work for got busted for withhoulding taxes from employees who maid 20-30k a year and then turned in w2 for 10-12k. that one was tens of thousands in backed taxes and penalties.

anouther one i just heard about was a company(custruction) who had his guys on unemployment every winter and would pay them cash about 25 hours a week per employee. this is still being investigated so no penalties.

On the streets of Seattle, more than half are insurgents...here in Humboldt- I have yet to see anything but insurgent activities...you can't even buy a walk behind for a couple hundred miles.

I do not know of any lawn company.
I do know of a pizzeria that got hit hard.
Anytime you deal with cash, reported income is always smaller tha actual icome. The IRS knows this.

That's not quite accurate Bob. Everyone I know is all legal. Maybe some LCO's don't have their name on the truck, but that's about it.
Are you asking because you did something illegal and got caught? Are you looking for legal advice in paying a fine?

                  pennies on the dollar....

if you were to be captured by Revenue Seeking Occupational Units...they will settle for a balloon payment for PENNIES on the dollar- one time.

                  it's called a shakedown.....

We were taking care of 7 out of 10 decent restaraunts in a chain. The other 3 were being done by some guy for a few years that I really didn't know. I got a call in the fall of 2004 to finish out the year for the other 3 because the IRS found out the other lawn care company wasn't paying employment taxes, and other taxe related stuff. They put him in jail. And as of late last fall, he was still in jail.

if they clanked that nigga it had to have been worth their while...or he was on the do not fly list maybe. the main weapon the Money Changing Infidels is the LEIN. they can grab your bank account, that's why dudes bury cash and stuff like that.

you would have to be bigtime to do time, or really pissed someone off....mainly they'll allow a payment plan.

Mine, either. Now please fess up and get it off your chest. Just what were you caught for, since I can tell by your question, you are mad that you got caught and not the other guy. This is a typical "sourgrapes" situation all young men go through.

From what I heard about 50% are not legit.

In most cases you can tell by looking at them.

As far as paying taxes, I always paid taxes & only a very few times did I ever get cash...

I was one of the Lucky ones, the good Lord put a pretty decent head on my shoulders & I was able to write off crap unthought of by the average dud.

I wrote off my first 32" TV, VCR & Camcorder off to the business. Yeap I took it straight home & made videos of the equipment, then made videos of the Loading & Unloading procedures... Yep training videos, the IRS loved it!

As long as you can produce receipts & half way justify it... You can about write off any & everything.

BTW: I never wrote off using part of my house as a business office either... That throws up a big red flag... I made up for that part in repairs, gas, oil, tires & what ever else the family vehicles needed that I used in my business daily.

South Georgia public school 40 years ago has paid off big time for me!

my lawyer gave me some very good advice as i called him looking for loopholes-" look, you wanna stay outta trouble? don't do nothing wrong. it aint a garentee, but it's as close to one as you'll ever get." with that, mr dozer, there are no sour grapes, on my plate.
