Not a problem, I'll let you know. I did a little more research, the redmax 8001 is 24.9 lbs., the 7001 is 21.9 and the br 600 is 20.3. That is some difference in weight. Just wanted to put that out their.

I just got my redmax 7001 earlier this year and I love it. Did a few spring cleanups with it so far. It runs like a champ and blows great. Its comfy and not to heavy. 3 pounds makes a difference on your back. Get a redmax 7001 for grass and a little wonder for fall cleanup

            The answer is....

Get yourself a RedMax EB7001. You'll not regret it. The Stihl's may be nice, but they really aren't even in the same category.

              woody,
In what way dose the Stihl lag in comp. to the Redmax? The 7001 has more power??? what over the stihl? I have read a lot or your post and know you are very happy with the Redmax. And what should the 7001 cost? Thanks

I'll look for it but you know what its like to try to find a single thread. Thanks for the help. I was looking at the Redmax 8001. So I never pick up the 7001. I still want to know what the Redmax cost vs. the Stihl.

Any way you look at it they are both great machines. I run only stihl tecause it works for me an does not let me down. Redmax is proably just as good as brand as any though. Everyone here is going to give you a bias anwer leaning toward their own equipment.

im my are redmax cost more than stihl.

                          Thanks Hawk,
GeorgiaL, I agree with each person is going to say thier choice is best. I guess you weed thought the guys that are newer and get to the guys that have bought 5 or more blowers and that have tried different machines. Then you know they have learned thought thier own mistakes. I just want to make sure I"m happy when I lay down that kind of money. I don't think I could really go wrong with either unit. And I don't think I will second guess myself once I buy it. I want to buy the Br 600, I like that shop over the redmax dealer just a little worried about the start up on the 600. I have read on other post about Stihl being a little hard to start. My Husky now starts second pull every time.

I bought my Redmax 8001 this past fall and I could not be happier. Even my buddy that was a die-hard echo and stihl fan was shocked by the power of the 8001. This is great for heavy wet leaves and everyday use. But it can be a little heavy the first few times you use it, but I barely know its there anymore. Go with what you can afford, what feels good on your back, and with the one with the most dealer support. I would go to the dealers and try them all out, this will be the only true test to see what works for you.
