What to do

I currently have a garage that I run my business out of ,that is 30x50 and just about a mile from my house. This garage is at one of my oldest lawn customers it is sort of a bartering system you let me use your garage and Ill do all your landscaping for free,about a $45 weekly grass cutting. The problem is that the home owner is somewhat now wanting his upper yard where my garage sits about 200 yds from his main house to look nicer for his three kids to play on. This upper yard is about 100yds x 50yds with my tire ruts running right through it, this is the problem the mud and ruts running through it. He does not want any hard sufface like stone or concrete because the kids need a yard to play in. My only thought was using a lot of mulch or tree chippings but Im not sure if this will work.

Please give me some suggestions.
