  • Ivy clean up

Can any of you guys tell me what is your method for cleaning leaves out of Ivy beds. Blowing was what i had planned but it seems like this is going to be a pain any way i do it. These a very large beds with overgrown ivy.

11 hp Billy Goat vac with a 6" hose is the best,,, but if you dont have one of those a rake is your best option. Some of my guys swear a "clogless" rake works better than a standard soft rake but i dont think it makes a differance.

Ive actually mowed English Ivy and Myrtle in order to clean it. Turns out really good,, and comes back in more low and compact. After a couple cuts leaves blow right over top and have to work harder to mingle in. Just something to think about depending on the client's trust level.

I use a redmaxx 7001. I have also mowed our ivy as described by Seascape and have to say it looks fantastic once it growns back. You really can't kill the stuff unless you really really really want to.

Been there, done that. Mike is 100% correct. It does clean out real good this way.
