  • The new breed of lawn mowers... What if...

    What if...

    1. All commercial ztr's and WB mowers came with a 8.1 dolby surround sound system?

    2. they came with dvd players

    3. they came with onboard driving and sensors so all you had to do was sit there and watch tv while the mower did the job on its own

    4. all commercial mowers had a seek and destroy button for when a customer really pisses you off (imagine Mr. Jones eyes light up when he sees your ztr coming after him)

    5. all mowers gave you free money every time you turned it on and a bonus when you turn it off

    6. all mowers could mow at 50mph so you could get the job done quick.

    7. all mowers came standard with jet engines

    8. mowers could not only be air cooled, but could run off air

    9. all mowers cost 1$

    10. people would actually understand that you are a hard working person worthy of respect. (yeah right, like Mr. Jones would believe that. where's that button again?)

Sorry, I got kinda bored today.

I'm actually waiting for those commercial robo mowers I've been reading about get out there... Be nice to throw four or more on your trailer, and drop them off in customer's yards then go have lunch while they mow. Just come back later pick up the mowers, trim, blow, and go.

They'd need some type of disabling/lowjack gps system in case someone decides to come by and snatch them though.

Be nice to do 4 yards at the same time... How do you think that would boost you productivity??? Without having to even pay a crew.

As far as boosting my productivity, well I don't have a crew its just me. But mowing 4 yards at once would be amazing! I could mow a ton of grass every day by myself! One day it will happen, Just gotta keep reminding myself. One day it will happen.
(I will only buy them if they come with that cool seek and destroy button though)

How about an RV that you drive around all day with robotic mowers that come out the bottom at stops and do all your mowing for you while you watch satallite tv maybe have a drink or two and cook a meal.

I will point out the downside to possibly crush this dream...

1.. Anything bought by the average lawn business owner is just as easily purchased buy the general public....

          SOooooooo

2.. Before getting too excited about these things being massed produced , and all the bugs being worked out of them please contemplate the idea that 99 percent of the mow and blow guys in this business will go out of business overnight....

I can see the average homeowner running out immediately , and buying themselves all a new shiny toy that they can watch run up and down the yard , while they cook diner anyway, over the outside barbecue....

For a time the dopey wives wont catch right on , and the hubbies will "for a certain amount of time" get credit for mowing the lawn , and cooking the diner 1 time a week and depending on how quick witted the wifey "is" will be getting credit for doing some actual work when he`s home from his other job looking like a good husband newly interested in mowing the yard and dumping the lawn guy so lady of the house has more money to gamble at Biloxi each year whens they open back up....

Once the wife realizes this mower is cool to watch run up and down the yard ,even the women of the house will want to play with the robot, and take credit for mowing the family yard knowing there's more money in her bank account because of robomower...

This device will kill the typical L.S business , and cut a lot of neighborhood cutters business income to nothing...

I would figure out a way to sabotage the unit, be it working on some radio signal a transmitter of sufficient power that's built to block , jam , or screw up the robots navigation abilities hopefully making them useless until everyone can decide on what new small business they will want to become a part of....

          Anyone know how to ........

          1.. ROOF a house or,

          2..Paint a house or,

          3..Pressure wash a house or,

4..Do outside carpentry work on the house or ,

          5..*Do Robotic Lawnmower Repair!!!

That will be the hot ticket because you can build the jammer device to break the unit hitting each neighborhood 1 after the other ,and then fix the unit by looking at it for 5 minutes saying its fixed then Wait another few months and jam it up again

You could set some type of neighborhood jammers and when everyone calls your repair service just unhook the transmitter/jammer and tell everyone on the block the robo is fixed give me the $$$$....

          Problem solved...

Just my thought on futuristic devices and i think they will be in every garage or carport, if they ever become viable non hassle machines....

I Dont know how they navigate EBSOM , but hopfully it will be on older analog radio system , so old ham radios will be usefiull again as a jamming device ,and not the digital spread spectrum that would be more difficult to block...

Where is George Jetson when Tranny D. needs to ask him a question????

Again Just a silly thought and I'm typing out loud as usual, TRANNY D.

Never will happen !!!! or ??? lets not think about it!!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA (MY HOME SWEET HOME ) !!!!!

It sounds like you've let your imagination run wild with some fun and creative ideas for the future of lawn mowers! While some of these ideas may be a bit out of reach at the moment, it's always interesting to ponder the possibilities. Let's break down your list:
            1. Adding a Dolby surround sound system to commercial mowers could definitely make mowing more enjoyable, though it might be a bit overkill for some users.
            2. Including DVD players could be a nice luxury feature for those who enjoy watching movies or videos while they mow, although safety considerations would need to be addressed.
            3. Autonomous mowers with onboard driving and sensors are already becoming a reality, making mowing more convenient and hands-free.
            4. While a "seek and destroy" button might be amusing to think about, it's important to prioritize safety and professionalism in the workplace.
            5. Free money for mowing would certainly be a dream come true for many, though it's unlikely to happen in reality!
            6. Mowing at 50mph might get the job done quickly, but it could also be quite dangerous and impractical for most lawn care tasks.
            7. Jet engines and high-speed mowers may be more suitable for futuristic racing scenarios rather than everyday lawn maintenance.
            8. Running mowers off air could be an interesting concept for reducing environmental impact and energy consumption.
            9. While a $1 price tag for mowers would be incredible, it's unfortunately not feasible given the costs involved in manufacturing and maintenance.
            10. Ultimately, respect for hardworking individuals should come from mutual understanding and appreciation, rather than relying on gimmicks or buttons.
It's clear you've got a creative mind and a sense of humor! While some of these ideas may remain in the realm of fantasy, it's exciting to think about the potential innovations that could shape the future of lawn care. Keep dreaming big!
