Ferris Maintenance

Have a question, I bought a ferris 1500is last year. I do all my own oil changes and the kaw motor comes with a oil drain tube but the engine covers and shrouds dont allow you to place the drain tube anywhere to get a bucket under it. Any ideas on how to keep it from spilling all over the back side of the unit? Thanks

you can but the problem is they put the tube where it seems like you have to tip the mower to one side to get it lower than the oil pan

my exmark wall behinds are the same way. I push a peice of tube up in the drain sout and jack the other side of the mower up so that it drains out of the tube into the bucket without making a mess.

about 24" of clear tubing (from the hardeware store) clamped around the oil drain tube with its own shut off.

Odd... They didn't put some hole for the tube to drop out through??? On my Snapper the tube is too short to get anywhere, but they were nice enough to put a 1-1/2" hole in the frame just close enough for the tube to stick through. Wish they'd been that nice about the hydro filter... Got hydro oil all over the battery compartment when I changed that.

Thanks, I ended up puting a longer tube in but it was a hassle. I got everything changed and changing my hydro filter and oil ment taking apart the seat support and letting the hydro oil go everywhere. Thanks for all your help!
