i ahve a 44 inch deck on my toro ztr..it has a 20hp motor...is it possible to change the deck on the mower to somthing bigger like 48" or 52"? Are the decks interchangable as long as you have enough power in the motor...or would i have to do some welding?

Have you asked your Toro dealer??? They'd be the ones to know with certainty.
Most likely you can, but expect to pay a small fortune for the deck itself.
