I was driving down this road not far from my house. I had just went and bought a 20ft Dove trailer (3 axel Commercial ) for my new Tractor. I brought it home loaded the tractor on it and wanted to see how it pulled so I left my house went less then a mile and I turned off main HWY into a side street. I was just about off the road when this car slams me in the right conner of the tralier. What did I see 5 mexcains get out throwing beer bottles in the ditch. Well make long story short Ive been off work, sense saturday waiting on his INS ( AIG ) to come look at my truck and tralier ( It bowed my trailer in the side now one of the 3 axels are rubing the side of the trailer. Im pissed I have customers calling me asking me when I am going to be there. (GRR).

Well, that bites! Maybe the bright side is that they were following you with intent of stealing your equipment, and never got that far. Sorry about your trailer. Were the police able to pin the beers on them?

I'd suggest you contact an attorney right now. They will drag this out as long as possible unless they know you're serious. Since this is truly a commercial trailer and is required in the use of your business, they need to either get you a rental, and now, or be prepared to pay you for lost revenue and opportunities. You need an attorney to make that argument and have it taken seriously though.

This AIG insurance you have...; covers commercial stuff? If yes, then lost wages, rental cost, etc should be covered. If you are NOT on a commercial policy, your claim will most likely be turned down.

You should have beat them all to death on the spot. Or shot them. Most likely illegals. Regardless, they earned it.

Expect nothing out of this. They probably work for some landscaping outfit under the table, and most likely don't really have any insurance, Just giving you a run around until they can get out of town and some other scrub-ass outfit hires them.

          Sorry to hear it man.

Id call them if i were you.

Don't call a lawyer yet. Unless you plan on waiting just as long, then giving them 30% at the end.

The adjuster came today has offerd me 1,444.63 for the rear bumper damange. ( remember its a 1986 4 door F350 Dualy. Now the trailer is deffernt story. They said it was total loss. 16ft with 4ft dove tail 3 axles 7,000lbs axles, I talked to a guy about building me a new one he said 3,500 take him 4 days. I went priced one at our local dealer there price to replace same one i have is 4,900 some change. Called the adjuster he says wants me find a used one. Becuase my trailer is used. Im not sure I will buy into that one..

A used one? That's fishy. Sounds like the adjuster wants to get the best of you.....isn't this why insurance adjusters earn a killing?

So you had the trailer for less than a day, the accident happens, and they want you to find a comparable used trailer? HA! Good luck with that one.

Does the adjuster know you had JUST bought the trailer? Did you purchase the trailer used?

If the trailer is used like you said, I'm afraid there's nothing odd about it. If you have a used pickup truck and it gets totalled, they won't cut you a $27,000 check to go buy a new one. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

Almost I said: (almost $3,900 in a day wont be bad.)

I took the bumper off the truck fixed it on monday. I installed a Class III-IV HITCH. So that truck problem is fixed. I mean it has little dent in the tail gate but I can live with that being its a work truck.

Trailer is deffernt story. I have to replace one axle. It will be ok after that. So I mean its all not a total loss. I get that alex from friend for $100.00

When you talk about the dents and such in your truck and trailer, do you actually pronounce the word as 'damange', or just spell it that way?

                              Just curious.
