the entire northeast is experiencing a terrible outbreak of crabgrass, and nutsedge. i had 14 complaints, in less than 48 hrs. this late in the year, i will not treat crabgrass or nutsedge, for obvious reasons. the customers believe it's my fault, i know, that it's not. i contacted an employee of rutgers university, a certified master gardner/arborist, horticulterist. she concured with my practice, and stated the following, " we are experiencing the worst outbreak of crabgrass + nutsedge, in recorded history. the reason is: last year we had one of the hottest summers on record. this year, we had a dry march + april, followed by alot of rain during the hotter months. my opinion is that it not be treated, but rather allowed to run it's natural life cycle, and preventative measures be taken to avoid its return next season." i, concur. however, the fact remains, that it isn't my fault. and the fact remains, that mowing nutsedge + crabgrass is more time consuming, dulls your blades faster, and makes a mess under the deck. shouldn't u charge more, for the mowing fee, on these lawns that have experienced this infestation?

Yo BooBy
You are experiencing a normal Crabgrass year here in Florida April and May are our worst dry months and June starts our Rainy Season. By August we are getting the most rain of any month of the year. Crab Grass is a annual and grows very fast. What I do for Crab Grass is totally different than what you can do in Cool season turf.
BTW Glad to see your sorry Butt back Posting
