  • MPG boosting additive?

    http://4ecustomer.com/ ??

Ethos - supposedly increases your MPGs by 7-19% while keeping your engine and the environment clean????

Saw the ad in a gas station -- looks a bit fishy to me. If it really works, great, if not ->

    Input?

How much $5.00 for a 12 or 16oz bottle that is used in every tank. Sounds like a deal to me.

If you visit their website, and attempt to go to the online store, it will stop you until you enter a "sponsor's number." This is called Multi Level Marketing, and is a ripoff for certain. It is usually used to push a BS product by indoctrinating people to "believe in the product", and then offering huge discounts from a much-inflated "retail" price if they become a "wholesaler" of the crap. They con people into purchasing huge amounts of it, and make their money by all of the intial orders. They don't hang around long enough for repeat sales, and, since everyone is a "wholesaler" and already has a basement or garage full of the stuff, repeat orders won't happen.

Avoid it like the plague. If it truly gave you a 15% increase in mileage (or even a 10% increase) on all driving, in all conditions, they would only have to offer up a few bottles to Consumer Reports or one of the TV News Show programs (like 60 Minutes), and they would reap in a fortune.

It looks like a Ponzi Scheme to me, and one that Charles would be proud of.

My point was you pay $3.00 for a gallon of gas. Then turn around and pay $5.00 or more for a 12oz bottle, which converts out to over $50.00 a gallon, to save a few MPG's.

              Multi-level marketing? what's that?

If you don't believe in this great product then don't buy it.

Like my friend says, if they don't believe you, move on. When I met him he said I look like a smart person, so he is alright in my book, now he brings me to all these meetings where they say the same thing about the great products we sell and remind me that I will be a millionaire like them soon.

Want to save money on gas...

Change out the air filter more often, use a good air filter, change out & use the correct spark plugs for your engine more often.

I made sure that I carried enough gas & mixed gas for equipment that we would run out of gas first in the trucks. Then when you go to the gas station you can fill everything up.

Don't you feel like an idiot if you run out of gas for your mowers & you have to drive out of the way to get 5 gallon gas can filled so you can finish a job? A complete waist of gas & time, notice the people at the gas station looking at you funny? They know you're an idiot too!

Keep a constant check on the tires air pressure, if you got plenty of brakes & stopping power go 5lbs over, do the same for your trailer if you have one.

Have you ever had your fuel injectors cleaned? I was talking to a guy a while back & he claims that it should be done at least every 80,000 miles.

Use a synthetic oil, get a better air filtration system, if you're planning on keeping the vehicle a while.

Find the best deal on gas nearest you & the second best place, work it out where you never have to go out of your way for gas. Some people wake up on a different planet and out of the blue drive to the gas station to get gas & drive straight back home. That's a complete waist of gas & time.

My step father will drive 20 plus miles round trip to save a 2 cents a gallon & make a special trip just to fill up. I'm waiting for the day he finds it 10 cents a gallon & he just drains the gas out of his tank on the ground just so he can tell everybody that he filled up & got it 10 cents a gallon cheaper? Whatever?

Fill it to the gill when you go there, I still see people putting $5 & $10 in their car at the gas station. Another waist of time & gas, in most cases your going to burn another tank of gas in your vehicle before you junk it or wreck it.

If you're running a gas burner & pulling a trailer with a 4 or 5 foot tailgate on it sticking straight up in the air, you got your self a wind damn costing you at least 3 to 5 miles to the gallon extra and when the trailer is empty that wind damn is making you vehicle harder to handle...

For a couple of hundred bucks or less at a welding shop you can get that tailgate located under your trailer & slide it straight out to load & unload. It's worth the savings in gas mileage if you plan on keeping the trailer a while. Been there & done that.

Always plan your trips for the day. If it was left up to my wife & daughters they would go back & forth home 2 or 3 times a day. When ever my wife or me is on the road, we always call home to see if anybody needs anything.

Don't tailgate folks give them plenty of room, if you pulling a trailer you better give plenty of distance. Take it easy on take off, a lot of folks are guilty of trying to push their vehicle with their gas pedal, that really eats up gas. By coasting to an almost stop your saving gas & wear & tear on your brakes. I'm constantly having to do brake jobs on the ladies fleet of vehicles at the house, it gets old too.

I've been trying to train my wife for years on how to drive. I get at least 3 more miles to the gallon than she does in town. If you're in laws are around drive their vehicle or get them to drive you. In laws are used to being taken advantage of, that's what they are there for!

Here where I live folks use to move to another county to save 10 to 20 percent a year on property taxes, now all those rocket scientist are realizing that the extra gas they are burning because they have to drive an extra 15 to 30 minutes each way daily is eating their behinds, wallets & putting a bigger hole in their gas tank?

I live around 5 miles from work. I can can haul arse & get there in 8 minutes or I can take my time & get there in 10 minutes. To save those 2 minutes I burn about twice as much gas. It ain't worth it?
