Does everyone use a truck or is anyone pulling using a car?

Only from a pro stand point: I would not use a car.
I would use an s-10 or a ranger before a car.
But, if that's all you have then you have to start somewhere.

    How much are you pulling??

Like Bryan said, if you can afford a truck it is more professional. Also if you are pulling some weight it is best to have a brake system on the trailer you are towing. It definitly helps.

A used full size 8 foot box pickup with greedy boards and a handy ramp end gate will give you good service for a few years.

In my area I see all kinds of nice used Chevy pickups for sale (some with 4wd)in the $2-3k zone.

Service industry. Image means a lot. A decent truck looks more professional than a car.
2-3K like Stone states, might buy something that is sitting on blocks.
Spend the money, make the investment.Get what serves your purpose.
Not a 2-3K piece of junk.
If it's a business vehicle you can write it off. Keep mileage logs if you buy it out-right. If it's a lease you can write off the monthly payments.

I agree pulling a trailer around with a car just aint professial. Get a new, or if you cant afford brand new get a good used truck like green giant said, not some junk that is probably about ready for the scrape heap.

Another service vehicle you might want to consider is an older Dodge 15 passenger maxi van. Take out the rear seats (they make good porch swings) and carpeting.

Thru the side door you can load a one-ton skid of fertilizer and with a handy ramp you can load your ride on spreader sprayer thru the back doors.

Front and rear AC keeps you cool between jobs.
