  • heavy downpour (damage?)

I recently overseeded 7 days ago and saw the first signs of grass sprouting this morning..BUT...it's been raining heavily today (downpours).....will all this rain wash out a good overseed job??? Will it not affect it at all?

Any thoughts on this? Should I reseed any areas that may have washed out?

Prepping on an overseed job? I would have cut the existing grass and overseeded, unless it was a planned aeration job. Then it would be cut, aerate, overseed.

It all depends on the lay of the land and how the water ran off of it. You may have lost some seed, you may not have. You are the one who is going to have to decide. Go out and have a look at it in a few days.

What is the germination period of the strain you planted? I assume you broadcast the seed rather than using a slit seeder.

Most of the seeds that I overseeded with have sprouted already! I was just beginning to see grass grow...so it's been about 8 days...i'm just wondering if I'm safe now because growth has started? Wasn't sure even if I could return to deep watering less frequently...how long do you wait until you lay off the daily light waterings? I assume once you see the grass sprout up?
