does anyone know about briggs& stratton?

did somebody buy briggs & stratton out? me and my neighbor got into a heated argument about if someone had bought them out because he worked at walmart he said the truck driver told him that they quit carrying murray because someone bought out briggs & stratton.i thought that murray went bankrupt and briggs &stratton bought out murray.can someone clear this up for me ?

I guess neither one of you two realize just how BIG Briggs & Stratton really are.

In 2004, they purchased Simplicity, which includes Snapper, Giant Vac, and Ferris.

As a true Wisconsinite, I am sure to say no one has bought out B&S. Kohler, just up the way is doing awesome as well, but Tecumseh, has just laid off most of their workers here and have opted for other plants(ie, Brazil I think).
