HOMEWORK: Some build-up is benefical though. How much is too much? Can pesticides help create thatch?????? Figure this out and let me know what you find out. Your ability to locate answers will help you emensely with your "mowing" business. Class dismissed.

Well i'm not looking it up but taking a shot at it..... I would guss pesticides increase thatch because it kills the bacteria and insects that decompose thatch.

I've been taught that the damages to young grass caused by dethatching is more harmful than leaving the thatch. Aerating seems to be the best way to reduce too much thatch.

                            Thatch is your friend.
Well, as long as the client will pay for aerating.

if you are in the business of maintaining the lawn, it better be kept looking good. you shouldn't have any excessive buildup if you take care of it. ask my boss mastermower ? he'll set you straight.
