anybody use this to determine how far to go for a customer? the furthest i have been going is 16 miles. the customers that i had in this area have been dropped and i'm seriously thinking about bringing this down to 10 miles as home construction is going crazy around here.

Depends on the clients. I have several high-end clients I travel 25-30 miles, but when there, I service several props, + with the extras, $$$$ can't give them up. I do have a couple that are going to be cut due to distance, though.

About 27 miles for me. Because of gas price and COB increase, two years ago,
I dropped a couple that were out another 5 miles.
Dropped another that was downtown. Nice pay, but I hated going into the city.

I'm dumping a few customers that are out of the way. Should have done it last year, but kept thinking that I would get more business out of those areas. Didn't work out, so they are gone this year.

if i bring mine in to 10 miles i'm gonna stick to my guns no matter what a customer might bring to me. i stuck to my guns on profiling customers last year and that worked out real well for the most part. once you make a rule you gotta stick by it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. We're still gonna have some that don't fit the main bulk of the route but those are commercial properties. It's hard to give up that income esp during the winter.

as long as the clients in my city i'm there.

note i'm not talking about making 30+ min. trips for one client but anything that i can get to in 15-20 min. or less and i'm there.

I live in a densley enough populated area that I could easily mow 100+ accounts in a 5 mile radius. In fact, I plan to this year.

I have a set of 3 full service accounts that are a bit out of the way but they are in the same hood and combine at over $10k so I make the drive.
