im going to buy a trailer sunday and i am going to get tags on monday but does the size of the trailer influence the fee i have to pay...i live in pasco county florida

Just regesterred my new trailer in FL ......

$28.60 for a tandem 16 X 7 footer....

Are the 3X3`s from Harbor Freight cheaper ???? Maybe , but if you cant afford $30 for the year get into somthing different , because $30 doesnt by anything nowadays and isnt bad.....

You can always go with one of these if you cant afford the trailer costs and have some puny mower....



I honestly to god invented that back in the late 80`s and sold the rights to a trailer company who i originally proposed the idea to and laughed at me.....

I welded 1 up myself then showed it to them , and after testing it they were pretty impressed ,plus even before that it would stop traffic dead and people would roll down there windows asking ,where they could get 1 because it was a very handy never seen before but simple tool that could be used with anything with a hitch reciever...

I should have patented it myself and now id be a billionaire , but i still have the original that everyone joked about until they tried it because it was so handy being able to load heavy bulky items by tipping them and shoving them on like refrigerators....

It was lovingly called trannies mobile porch and the original very heavy built of old car jacks and box iron i had up in my loft.....

If only i had known .... millions have been sold since then for $50- $150 depending on the year purchased , or what its made from as they come in aluminum , steel , or stainless..........

Then you have the bike carriers and movers along with handicap scooter carriers that i told the buyer all the potential ideas about and he took my design and ran away making god knows how much since then selling off the rights to trannies original idea....

My big contribution to mankind... I'm so proud !!!!!!:laughing:

Got plenty of other ideas anyway so it wont be the last mankind altering invention i make.....:laughing:

In a way i would definitely at this point in time make my trailer purchase based on what im realistically going to be hauling with it.....

obviously if your carrying a lot of equiptment or heavy big loads get a tandem axle as big as you'd need ....

BUT:

With gas being so high if your just starting out a single axle of a smaller size capable of holding your stuff may be better and save you quite a bit in fuel costs......

I always had a few ...

1..A nice tandem axle for the heavy crap or long trips on the highway in case a tire blew....

2.. a medium sized single axle for medium size jobs or delivering or picking up a few engines and transmissions....

3.. A small single axle for light stuff because its just so much easier to maneuver , park , back up and move around when unhooked using 1 hand that i can push into a parking space or the garage....

I wouldn't buy a tandem if i just had a few walk behind mowers and weed-eater... I would use the bed of the truck to carry the weed eater and gas , chainsaws or whatever or put a nice rack on it making it economical and still practical.....

Then when you grow and have the big machinery and money to not worry about the fuel costs just buy the biggest trailer you need and keep the smaller for a second crew or smaller jobs....

I hate useing a tandem around town , listening to dragging tires around turns , and pulling my back out unhooking it from the truck every day....

Its also nice if you have a specific truck you can just leave the trailer hooked to rather then hooking and unhooking daily....

A small one can easily be backed up into a garage , all the equiptment left in place , lock it all up and nothing disappears and ends up at the local pawn shop...

If i didnt have a garage i definitely would think about an enclosed trailer also rather then a open because iv found the enclosed more versatile , stuff is more secure , you can use the sides for advertisement plus everything is protected from the weather....

Probably a different thread though but that's my thoughts....

If Your paying more then $1200 there's a place i think is near you that has OK utility trailers for 12 bills.... you pick up.....

They say $1200 from the factory ,14 at their lot , but i know a guy who says he played dumb, went there with $1200 cash in $100 bills and they accepted it.....

Rumor is sales are down so they will play the numbers.....

I was also told their in your area anyway or close although im not familiar with your town but he says he passed through that area on the way.....

Not the best price , as i have the son of a trailer joint who will build me 10 at a time for $550 each with used wheels that i cant tell the differance in (and nobody iv sold to has either) ,,if i buy 10 at a time bulk ,cash and pay him under the table , but iv heard others say they pay as much as $2400 + with brakes for that size unit.....

HERES THE TRAILER FOR $1200 if you go cash ,and are willing to start walking away if they say they cant, because they will...... Like playing poker !!!! Also you always say theres a used 1 near you for $300 so their bad decision but tanky for your time gentleman.....:laughing:

I just bought a smaller trailer for doing just the mow & go jobs.

It is a 6.5' x 10' single axle. .... Plus I will save some fuel by useing this one, while
not having to drag around the 16' tandem all the time.

Got it at auction for $400.00 !
