Hey, I am a noob here. Actually, I'm looking to you guys for advice on starting my own business with an ability to keep it running. I find it odd my first post is to offer advice rather than ask for it.

When I designed my landscaping, two years ago, I called on my friend's mother who is a real Green Thumb. Here's how we did it:

    1. Decide when you want the color. Spring, summer, fall, winter (here that doesnt happen)

    2. Decide what colors will stand out against the house and other points of interest from the point of veiw you are trying to improve.

    3. Go to the local nursery and look around. Your local nursery will have only plants that will thrive in your area with the proper (and mostly minimal) care. They will also be a big help in factoring plant height and bloom expectations for the future.

Floral arrangements are tricky, but with a little thought and the local nursery's help also, you should be able to do a nice presentation for your customer. Also don't be affraid to get caught surfing the web looking at botany pages. I did and found several great ideas I implimented in my own. I see myself as a manly man, but my neighbor's want me to do their flower bed too! That has to say something.

What part of VA are you in? I am in Upper East Tennessee. If you are close to my area I may be able to make stronger suggestions. Or perhaps picture of walkway with house and surrounds
