Direct mail failed.. why?

NO more mailers for me .... every year i will put out a few flyers and get maybe 10 accounts or more just from 300-500 flyers... this year i sent out 500 mailers and got one call. I started to send out 3000 thought i would start with 500 and im glad i did.

If I have a flyer on my front porch, I pick it up and read it prior to throwing it away.


If I get junk mail in my box from the postal service, it just gets tossed right into the trash can. I don't even look at them......ever.


I'm sure that I'm not the only one that does that.




P.S.- I know this will sound odd, but I got more calls of a basic 2 color flyer than I got from my full color laminated flyers.

I remember reading or hearing somewhere, Hand made sign were more effective than professional ones. In my case, the fancier the junk mail the quicker I throw it in the trash. Plain envelopes get opened every time unless I see a Spammer return address.
