i need an opinion on a mulch estimate. it is for a family friend and normally i dont take the time to do them but it is 5 yds of hardwood mulch slight grade only about a yard of it needs to wheeled i told them 650 plus tax. does this sound reasonable to any landscapers? thanks

with tax, that's $136.50/yard. i would charge about half that. i guess it all depends what the going rate is in your area. you wouldn't get that here in hooterville. also when you say slight grade, that would make my price higher, but you say only a yard would be wheeled in. that might make my price come down unless you need a helicopter to bring in the other four.

i'd charge $275 just to lay the stuff. that doesn't include bed prepping or edging. $55 a yard.
