Daily on the 54", Bi-weekly on the 36", and weekly on the 21". Works very well for me.

If I'm to mow some chithole which I know will dull blades quickly, I try my best to use the Z-master with a set of crappy already been dulled blades.....

my 52" gets a sharp set every day. the 36" currently gets changed once twice a week. my 21 incher is done once or twice as well.

i have gator blades and high lift blades i used diff. days for the diff. properties. all my high end properties are done on thurs. and fri. so i use my high lift blades. the rest of the week i use gator blades.

wow! you guys really sharpen every day??

how many hours do you put on them before you sharpen?

and isnt it a pain in the ass? it takes me like 5 mins a blade, plus dont your blades wear down really fast when you are sharpening them every day? they are expensive..

i sharpen mine like 2x a season, and probably put 20 hours on them a week...

                      is that bad?

I mulch most of my residential and some of my commercial accounts - so I always sharpen daily. Dull blades equals an uneven cut and slow mowing. Sharp blades equals speed and a clean professional cut. Invest in a professional blade sharpener. This will save on equipment problems because of unbalanced blades. If you are going to call yourself a professional - have the right equipment to be one.

Most professionals do not buy a "professional blade sharpener".
I do not know of any shop, that sharpens blades, that has one.

Where's a good place to get one of those sharpener's at? I've asked local shops around here. No help at all on where to find one at.

I've gone back to an angle grinder. Something odd happened to my blade grinder....off balance now (dunno if it's the stone or motor shaft). Oh well, I think the angle grinder is better anyhow.
