Hey , have you tried the flap disk in your angle grinder ?
They seem to work better, don't get the blade as hot.

how many hours do you put on them before you sharpen?

and isnt it a pain in the ass? it takes me like 5 mins a blade, plus dont your blades wear down really fast when you are sharpening them every day? they are expensive..

i sharpen mine like 2x a season, and probably put 20 hours on them a week...

          is that bad?
Sometimes if it's real dry I'm lucky to 20 hrs out of a set of blades. Even when conditions are good I can sharpen blades about 3 times and that puts them at +/- 25 hrs. At 25 hours the lift wing/blade or whatever you want to call it is gone. Even if you don't sharpen them they won't last any longer, probably not as long.

Twenty minutes a day to have sharp blades will save you way more than 20 minutes mowing time, with a clean cut to boot.

As for being expensive, blades are like gas, they're not an investment.

                  %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

our blades here in florida last maybe 7 hours of mowing. The mow crew is six members doing almost 300 accounts a week. with a dedicated blade grinder it takes about two hours a week to sharpen all the blades at one time for the five mowers on the trucks. bad thing is you have to always keep a case of blades for each machine on hand to replace bad blades. each blade can be sharpened about three times after that all they do is shred the grass

***, a case of blades on hand for each mower? these blade threads get better and better. How much is a CASE of blades and how many blades come in a case? and you carry 5 cases at all times? And if you sharpen daily you only have a set for three days? I assume 3 or 4 days since you mentioned they only last 7 hours and you only sharpen 3 times. Is that right?

i dont get it.. i sharpen mine about 2x a season, with 55 accounts, and I dont notice a poor cut... none of my customers have complained..

where are you guys from? is the grass thinner? thin grass doesnt seem to cut well with poor blades..

                          im from new england.

do you have alot of very high end accounts?
