Slime Tire Sealant

How many of you guys use slime tire sealant in you mower tires. I am thinking about putting it in all my machines because I am tired of getting flats.

i don't think it stops you from getting flats. you run over a nail, you gonna get a flat. pull the nail out and put the slime in and reflate the tire. i've used it for sealing the tire issues on one mower tire and one wheel barrow tire. it does work.

is the seal breaking down or are you running over crap?

I think it does seal up future holes as well, not just the one you are trying to fix.

does it or not? i've only had bead problems. educate me in hooterville in case i run over a nail. should i pull the nail out and spin the tire real quick to seal the hole or leave the nail in and spin the tire, but i can't do that cause i got a flat. i'll have to run out to the trl. and read the label. the label is very impotant you know.....

yeah I guess since your rolling solo you'd be a bit more careful w/your own equipment but, put a monkey on the machine and watch the abuse.

Yesterday I arrived to the garage and found the Deere with a flat from tire. 16oz of Slime and 3 minutes later it was put onto the trailer. I bought a bunch of slime for the tires last fall when I first bought the thing but never got around to putting it in the tires. With this tornado, it might be best I finally get around to that.........................

It works. We put some in an old tire and took a drill with an 1/8 bit and drilled 10 or 12 holes in it and it sealed all of them. Don't use tubes unless you have a hole that the slime won't seal. You would probably have to have at least 3/16 hole for the slime not to work. I've been using slime for 10 or more years and I can't recall any problems, just good results.

What size tire? Maybe it didn't have enough?

i dont know of the top of my head. But I just read on the website : "Once SLiME is installed into a tire it becomes exposed to different conditions that will slowly amend the original composition of the sealant. To ensure the product remains effective, we guarantee its performance for 2 years at which time we recommend removing the old sealant and installing new product."

i use it too. after my first flat and it hasn't gone flat again. i have it in both mowers.
