  • Using Quickbooks To It's Fullest Potential

i sent out 85 estimates this morning to selected in-active customers listing my winter services from my item list. at the end of the month i'll put the same info in the body of my final invoices of my weekly mowing customers. i did the same thing in august for my aeration and fert services to jingle the customers minds alittle. you guys that use this thing just for billing should play around with it in your spare time as it is good way of using your customer data base to continue bringing in $$$ without burning gas looking for work, plus if one of these folks calls, i can give them a price over the phone for most things since i basically have all my #'s for their properties. this will be steve-o's business tip of the week......

i'm still a fan of a paper invoice. i make two invoices, one for me and one for them. when the check comes in, my invoice is stamped with the date and the check is copied. all the info is also entered into the quickbooks. my stuff is also backed -up once a week and sometimes more to a disk.

I'm still a fan of the paper invoice as well.

I do use the memo area to mention addition services as well.

I suppose you could also make an 'item' up for whatever announcement you wanted to make and simply put that maybe 4 lines under the last item you listed on their invoice too.

The memo area is pretty nice though.

think of all the forests your destroying...........

i try to be as paperless as i possibly can. i was doing pretty good when i had my pda. i kept my daily schedules on it so i didn't need to print it out on paper. but the thing took a sheot and i haven't had time to get my blackberry set up for that just yet.

i print one paper invoice for those that don't have email or won't provide me with there address. i of course have that invoice saved on my computer, twice actually. once in the lawn pro program and i save a pdf copy in a folder i created in my documents. anyone who has email gets emailed the invoice. payment is recorded in lawn pro and thats it. lawn pro is backed up at least once a week.
