  • Spring Clean-ups

Hi everyone! Just wondering what all is involved in a spring clean-up? I have a potential client wanting an estimate on a spring clean-up, so I thought I'd find out what others say is a "spring clean-up". And how should I price it? By the job or by the hour? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

my spring clean ups are pretty much the same as my fall clean ups. i remove the leaves and debris from the mulch beds into the turfed areas and then i mow the lawn with a bagging attachment on my mower. this is done for the first 2 visits then it's regular mowing from then on.

i always charge spring and fall clean ups by the hour.

Cole cutz, do what you think the prop needs. Basically clean up the property (Lawn and shrub beds) of leaves, sticks and winter debris. Some like mulch in their spring clean up, some want their driveways cleaned, every place is different....try to find out what they want done (besides the obvious) and detail everything you plan on doing for the price. Some contractors may price lower and not include everything that you are including. just be as thorough as possible with your estimate and then follow up with a thorough job.

I do my spring cleanups by the job not by the hour.

Clean and remove debris from property, weed and edge planting beds, prune broken or damaged plant material, blow off hard surfaces

        mulch is priced seperate

        price by the job

Ron Howard: Is that... vodka... and wheat grass?
Homer: It's called a "lawnmower". I invented it. Want one?

My basic spring clean-ups include cleaning up all leaves and pruning back any needed perennials/annuals/ornamental grasses left from last season.

Spring clean-ups are a great time to sell additional services (up-sells). Sell pruning (though you'll have to be careful what shrubs you are pruning). Sell mulching (excellent time to mulch as you just cleared out all the leaves). Heck, I'm sure I've sold fertilizing applications at the same time (but that's a different ball game where you may or may not need to be licensed).

40 is too low for two guys. I price 60/hr for one man the same as mowing.
