I've been mowing for over 10 years and I ain't ever had to break my consistent weekly scheduling. I really don't understand the need to move one days mowing up by 4 days (11 day rotation)and the other days mowing back 4 days (3 day rotation). Seems screwy. Then again, I love people like you....makes my consistency look VERY good to my customers.......

If it's one damn lawn that's the cause, move the damn lawn up (or back), not the entire days work, or better yet, tell the customer "tough sheot."

lets say i make my schedule for the season. when i do i put clients close together on the same days (like everyone else does) to save on gas so in one day i'm driving around the whole city.

lets use some numbers JUST FOR AN EXAMPLE. say in june i have acquired 5 new clients and they all want to be mowed on fridays. lets say those 5 new clients are in the area i hit on tuesday and those 5 new clients are the only clients i have that want a specific day i cut.

i can now put those 5 new clients with the clients i service on tuesdays and move all of them to friday and move fridays clients to tuesday.

my weekly route stays the same, i'm just not in say the west site of the city on tuesdays anymore, i'm not in the west side on fridays.

i've only switched things around once but should it ever need done again it is very possible and very easy.

Just tell her you can cut it on friday but there will be a trip charge for having to go out of the way until you pick some more ppl up in her neighborhood

when it rains yes i get behind, depending on how many days in a row it rains. but as soon as i can i get back on the scheduled day.

for example. lets say it rains monday and tuesday. so i cut mondays clients on wednesday, tuesdays clients on thursday, wednesdays clients on friday, thursdays clients on saturday and fridays clients on sunday. now i do try and make up for lost time, purhaps i can get mondays clients finished on wednesday and get a head start on tuesdays and so on.

but as soon as monday roles back around i'm back on track as long as i'm caught up.

Update On The Original Woman In Post 1....

i have continued to mow her on wednesday and told her flat out that that's the way it is. so i get this months check in the mail and she has another note saying "steve....i will be entertaining this weekend. pls cut my grass on thur 7th or fri 8th....thanks. i get home today and she is on the answering machine talking the same crap. well, she will get her wish this week, BUT not because of me, but because of the weather and if it rains enough here in hooterville then maybe i can help her entertain this weekend by showing up and mowing in the middle of her deal.

Another Update......

i got my check in the mail today with another note......"steve, pls call me. i would like to have my lawn cut on thurs or friday. summer is here. i will be using my lawn on weekends.........." now this is a non-irrigated lawn. (the only one i have) her mulch beds are full of weeds. i don't do her chemicals, but that aspect sucks too. i called her and got the answering machine. i said no and to call back b/4 wednesday to schedule her mowing or i won't be coming anymore. i don't get these folks. she is my last cut on wednesday at around 4pm and if i put her on thursday as i am in the same hood to start thursday, she would be my first at 830am. 16 hours difference give or take. obama desciple...........

i have the final word period in everything that pertains to my life. she was told once again that wednesday is her day this year. she started that crap about being a good paying customer for 6 years and why can't i move her. i probably should have thrown in her face some of the little things that i've done over the years that she didn't get hit for.

a friend of mine does her stuff. i'm the one who got him the job b/4 i was legal. this year he really nailed her yard and a few others plus we had a nice cool wet spring here in hooterville. i cut it on wednesday and by saturday the crap is 6" and then her 2 neighbors scalp theirs which makes hers stand out like a sore thumb.

she called today and again said she needed her lawn mowed on a specific day which has to be thursday or friday so the $ h i t will look good for the weekend. now if yall remember this is my only non irrigated yard so for two of the last four weeks she has called off which i understand with the heat and somewhat lack of rain here in hooterville. i told her i didn't understand her thinking if she is willing to wait two weeks for a cut cause even if it ain't growing alot it still looks like crap so where did your looking good for the weekend mess go? anyway, i told her again the way it is. she said send her a final bill.................... whatever miss obama.
