  • Stick a Fork In Me Boys....I'm About Done

    Got a call a couple of weeks back from a guy wanting to leave the corporate world and get down and dirty in the lawn biz. He asked if I would consider selling out. He caught me on one the most fustrating days I've had in the business. I said " sure if the price is right."

    So, we have several meetings, had him sign non disclosures, looks like by the end of the month, I'm going to be an ex LCO. It ain't a done deal yet, but I have non refundable earnest money and looking forward to what should be our final meeting this week before money and ownership transfer which will occur June 1st.

    I'll stay on for 2-3 weeks to show him and his partner the ends and outs and so on. After that, my happy ass is taking off for a few months to go dive some really nice places.

    Will give ya'll the update later as things draw to a close.

      "caught you on one of the worst days"

      Wrong time of year to make a decision such as this.

      You'll likely regret it. :alien::alien::alien:

        Actually, it's the best time of the year. Money is coming in, things are running smooth, crews have their shi+ together. That's what a buyer wants to see. I want to to see some Benjamins....lot's of them. I want be regreting a damn thing....esp sitting on a dive ship off of Maui drinking Mai Tai's.

              So what are you going to do with the rest of your life.

              For the right price, anything is for sale including my biz, but i would have a hard time selling without haveing something in mind.

                I've never heard of anyone wanting to buy a business without knowing anything about it. Or how to service it.

                    I'm going to take off the rest of the year and travel a bit. After that, I'm considering moving to the hill country, Johnson City, Blanco, Fredricksberg, and building high end patio furniture. Went up there over the weekend and scouted out a few locations where to set up shop. Yep....it's the right move for me.

                            I posted this because I didn't know what I was getting into when i did. Prime work is easy to get if you do a good job. I would like to get loose of some old stuff so I could take on better new stuff. I have not even bid a job this year because I have more than I can do.

                              Buyer backed out. We are in a major drought. Bad timing. I haven't given up the idea of selling out. I'll revisit this again early spring next year.
