what is the average net income for you guys with 1 full timer. Dont feel as if I am making enough for killn myself. grossing 500-600 a day and after all expenses more like 400-500. Am I around the average? I do get around 700-1000 during seeding times and mulch/straw.

First off, if you were making 4-500 a day "profit" with one helper, you would be making about 2400 a week on 5 days which is 9600 per month. Thats damn good for one helper. But since you are saying you have 100 a day in expences, you may want to learn what expences are. Your numbers are not possible. If you were working 8 hours and paying your helper 10 an hour thats over 100 right there with taxes. Then you have ins, gas, equipment cost, utilities and so on. Learn your real numbers.

really got all that. It is an average some weeks are 2400 and on the high end 3500. I do realize other cost: gas, taxes, ins., equipment maint. ect. simple question Am I on average with others who have 1 helper?

Would you like to see my income tax return from the last two years? I think you'd be very surprised at what you saw.

These Boys Are Hard On You Man...................

my 2 cent...............$600 gross with one employee is good. your net seems way off as one other said. track all your stuff using something. i use Quickbooks. i put every expense i can come up with even if it ain't a tax deductable one, therefore, one click and i know where i'm at. as far as being average.................who knows? i'm in hooterville, you are in reading, riting, and the road to richmond land. these other CLOWNS are elsewhere.

depends on the area and what you are doing. In my area (and this is my opinion), a good crew (2 guys) with a good route and that is efficient, should be at $800 per day mowing pretty easily.
              oooooooooo yyyyeah
some people pay to get a tan. I get paid to tan.

Yeh, you should look closer at your actual profit. There's really no way possible that you can bring in $500 per day with one employee and actually profit $400. Or $600/day and profit $500.

But I do recall someone saying they clear $5000 per week by them self quite often......so....there may be the occasional person clearing $175k per year working alone. (sarcasm of course) But I do believe it was said.

Also, if my figuring is correct, you're making at least $80-$95k per year profit with one employee?

Just curious (not being rude), how much more do you feel you should be making?

Just like I said the other night to him, 'Closed mind, closed possibilities.' Apparently he didn't read it. :alien::alien::alien:

I remember the days when I was more than glad to bring home $200gross/day. That was my goal way back when. I figured it'd be damn hard to top that. Glad I don't think that way anymore. Now I just gotta move past the solo-op deal, problem is I'm comfortable where I'm at, and that's a baaaad thing. :alien::alien::alien:

It could happen, the way I been bidding lately. I'll have to get rid of some dead wood though.

Feel as though I should be around 600-800. Working solo I would do 300-450. I have to much to run solo now just seems I should be making more on my help.
I am around the 80k mark that includes all services not just mowing.

To expect your gross to double going from a one-man operation to two-man is unrealistic. There is this funky thing in economics called the law of diminishing returns. With mowing, the diminishing return rate seems to be a straight downward slope after one man. Figure on a 30% minimum gain. That'd be $390-585 for you.
