The first thing is the clothes. I have tried pretty much everything but the under armour heat gear can't be beat. Just the underwear make a HUGE difference over cotton. Everything wicks away the sweat and you feel a lot more comfortable throughout the day. I wear the fishing guide pants and long sleeve compression style shirt with my company shirt over that. I am WAy more comfortable with that than shorts and t-shirt down here in the heat and humidity of FL. Plus you lessen the sun and dirt exposure.

Hydration of course is a big thing, water....water.....water with some gatorade mixed in once in a while as was mentioned above. I like the G2 since it has less sugar. I also don't usually stop for lunch and will pack a PBJ sandwich or a protein bar to eat during the drive to the next account.

I'm telling you guys, at the minimum try the underwear, I get them at Sport's Authority. I am a firefighter and believe me in a hot structure fire you SWEAT! These things are great!

Raining here all day and never broke 75. I wear a work uniform: dark blue slacks and light blue button short sleeve shirt and JD summer ball cap, wetlands camo. I drink coffee till 10:00 and powerade until happy hour. I love the heat I'm comfortable at 94. 95 and up I sweat a little. My body temp is about 1 degree above normal so 70 is really cool to me.

Rained here too, around 1PM. Went home after the rain started. Sunny couple hours later. Remained indoors anyway....tired after being up most of the night working on some sheot. Got a measly 7 lawns in after an early morning doc appointment...not a total waste.

until you start feeling the underwear melt since they are primaily poly in that house fire.

Now that is funny! Been in a lot of fires? If those underwear melt I am in mucho trouble since at that point the rest of me would be melting too. Many depts issue polyester blended pants too that are worn under bunker gear. It's a bad day if you bunker gear isn't protecting you to that point.

NFPA 1975 covers your station wear, per this regulation you are "Supposed to" wear fire resistive station wear. the manufacture can deem things such as %100 cotton, or wool as fire resistive if it passes the testing requirments set in the NFPA 1975. If you continue to read and understand the "standard" It specificaly states that under garments are not included in the standard, IE: under shirts, bras, panties, thongs, whatever! It then further states that outer wear is not covered either, so if you want to wear a polyester jacket around outside, so be it. the only thing the "Standard" is worried about is the "Station Wear" because this is the uniform you will predominately be in.

i don't mess with under armor or any of that stuff. i work day in day out with kakai pants, work boots, and undershirt and my logo'd t shirts.

i carry with me a 5 gallon water container. i always drink water inbetween jobs and if it's extremelly hot and i need to catch my breath i'll get some water while switching from one piece of equipment to another.

i always have lunch. sometimes its in the truck between jobs, sometimes i sit in a parking lot or in front of a clients house and other times i go into a place like mcdonalds and eat.

i don't do any snacking inbetween jobs, no saltines or sunflower seeds or anything. i eat a good breakfast, drink water until lunch and then drink more water until dinner.

breakfast is pop-tarts in the truck w/ a multi-vitamin. Lots of water throughout the day (sometimes between mowing and trimming on the big places). Once in a while a soda or energy drink in the afternoon for some sugar, but rare. Lunch is 2 PBJ sandwiches (either eat between jobs or while on the mower). One roughly at 11-1130, the other sometime around 2. Snack on trail mix throughout the day. As for my outfit, black gym shorts, sleeveless logo tee, boots (hiking style), and my glasses.
                        oooooooooo yyyyeah
some people pay to get a tan. I get paid to tan.

                          .

Have you ever bought some of it and tried it? It is really good stuff. That or Columbia stuff with the UVA/UVB ratings. I do a lot of flats fishing down here and they work great for that too.

I used to be a Khakis kind of guy and was hardheaded about switching until a friend gave me a pair of pants so I would try them and I haven't looked back.

no reason to try any of it. the khakis and shirts i wear work just fine. unless it's 90 degrees outside i'm perfectly comfortable every single day.

So you don't sweat even on 80 deg days? These dry very quick and wick away the sweat unlike cotton so they make things a LOT more comfortable.

I guess it's kinda like going from a WB to a Stander...................
