  • So I'm a dumbass blowhard that doesn't read things, but this is bullsheot!!!

    Credit card PCI-DSS compliance.

I opened my credit card merchant statement. Normal monthly $7.50 and then $30 additional fee! Didn't say what it was for, so I called.

Oh that's the PCI compliance fee, it's broken down into three payments he tells me. "This was explained on your April statement."

    Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

"You are also to complete a questionaire."

    Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Yeah, I felt very stupid (and pissed). So I dig out the April statement and there is the notice. Annual fee of $129 for this compliance bullsheot. Holy hell that's high. Now I gotta pay that per year and complete the questionaire annually too?

Geez, maybe this whole merchant account ain't worth it.

It'd be fine if I had frequent use...........I'm thinking of dropping the account. Not many of my customers use the credit payment option anyhow.

Yea minnie; you really should read the fine print. There are many more things in you're merchant agreement you don't know about. I really don't think credit cards have a place in this business.

I'm not sure that is true.

It sucks, but people are more and more card only on paying bills, it gives your customers just one more thing that makes there life easier, i have a few that pay much quicker, and people spend atleast 10-20% more on average when the use plastic.

Think about it, do i go with company a and write a check or company b and get airline miles.

now keep one thing in mind, cc companies are evil and i don't use them.

Good thing i built it in, but it would have been nice to keep that.

I use a cc to buy fuel at the same station every day, I have It registered with the state. I turn my recipts in in april and get a 17 cent per gallon refund for off road use. Plus I get a 3 percent cash rebate from chase for using the card This is what they are doing to you at your expense.

Its part of doing biz that will become more and more nessisary over time.

Its a service to my customers and i wise man once said we are in the service business.

And i'm not the one who is paying your 3% rebate. Your fellow card holders are with 20+% interest rated and 35$ late fees for being 1 day late.

Are you sure? I was once told by the card company my rates are based off what card is used for the transaction....depending on the incentive program in place. :alien::alien::alien:

clc: Yea you're right its gonna happen to me soon but I've been avoiding that expense as long as possible. If you get the money fast and put it in the bank You'll only get 1.5 maybe 2.0, why pay 3 to get it. On the other hand if you pay a 7.0 loan you have with the money you gain 4 percent.

You are paying two to three percent on every transaction depending on your gross collected. Read the merchant agreement thats what you went to college for.

all the cards are the same rate. The company i pay is not the card company you have a card with. In fact the company i pay does not even offer cards. They may be a subsidiary, but everything is now adays.

I will say though, i don't know enough about the ins and out of this crap to say one way or another, but follow the money. Do you realy think they make there money off me or the average cc holder.

And are you saying a cc company once told you something. Its a cc company. They lie. They make their money off every one involved, but unless your one of the 5% who pay it off each month, every month, your paying for your rewards.

Yeap, it's nice. I don't believe in interest. It'll rob ya. Banks are evil, every one of them. Why people think paying someone interest is OK is beyond me. Only interest I pay is on the mortgage, and even that bugs the hell out of me. :alien::alien::alien:
