We'll get into details of this story later, but I ticked off an old lady today because I refused to bag her lawn. She tells me mulching her lawn will kill her grass, this according to a man who de-thatched her lawn awhile back. She wouldn't disclose the guys name, only to say this is what he told her. She consumed 3 strikes before a mower could even touch the **** pit lawn and her name is on my 'banned' list. That is a first. :alien::alien::alien:

i had a client this week come out and tell me she didn't want her lawn cut because it was wet. i was half way done string trimming and she comes out "what are you doing" "i'm surprised your here" "i thought you weren't suppose to cut the grass when it's wet, it dries it out"
her words, NOT mine......
i just politely told her i don't agree with that statement but it's her lawn.

well since this is the first time i've ever come out to her property and left without mowing i won't be charging her anything for that short visit.Originally posted by MASTERMOWER View PostSo you drove away and won't be back until this week? i let the client dictate when i'm gonna mow because most importantly they are paying me, making the client the boss. but my letting them dictate only goes so far. at the beginning of the season i take what requests i can for those who prefer certain days that there lawn is cut. once the schedule is made you have your day for the season.
it is the clients responsibility to call me in advance to cancel there service for a week. up until that day she always has called me a day ahead to let me know she doesn't need me to cut that week.
i let the client make those calls so i'm not driving up to propertys only to find it hasn't grown and doesn't need cut.
this is the first time i've ever had someone tell me it's to wet to mow. she didn't call because she honestly didn't think i'd be coming anyway.

i didn't leave and come back,Originally posted by Spoiled View PostYeah, i have one that would perfer bagging but i convinced him that the clippings provide free food for the soil/grass.
I would not leave and come back for sure. It would be done and see you in a week or so.
it was leave and see you in a week.
now her lawn will have 2 weeks worth of growth on it so i will be hitting her up for more money, my bi-weekly charge to be exact.

How do you suppose she will react to that? I bet she won't understand why you want to charge her more and will want it done for the weekly price.Originally posted by spotremix View Posti didn't leave and come back,

she knows how i charge, she was informed before she hired me of my prices both weekly and bi weekly.Originally posted by Georges Lawn & Mulch View PostHow do you suppose she will react to that? I bet she won't understand why you want to charge her more and will want it done for the weekly price.
there will be no surprise. she can't beotch, she never told me the grass didn't need cutting, she just said it was too wet to cut.
i'm not worried, if she's gonna be pulling that kind of sheot about not cutting when it's wet, i don't need clients like that.
i've never given a free cut in my life. i've never had anyone complain about my work or any "inconvenience" either.Originally posted by MASTERMOWER View PostHe'll probably give this weeks mowing for free and say "sorry for the inconvenience I caused last week." :alien::alien::alien:

You sure sound macho, but you run your business like a sissy. You told us earlier it was a "leave and see you in a week." (and note you won't be charging her for the visit in which you had half the lawn trimmed.)Originally posted by spotremix View Posti'm not worried, if she's gonna be pulling that kind of sheot about not cutting when it's wet, i don't need clients like that.
But you're claiming here you don't need clients that "pull(ing) that kind of sheot about not cutting when it's wet."
But you said "see you in a week?" You might as well have pulled your client's pants down and kissed their ass.
Oh Sport, grow some balls.
