  • Controlling Dallisgrass...........

i was reading in another thread that mr. no brown lawns can control dallisgrass and do it for $45 and on top of that use a granular that he broadcast across the lawn. i would like someone on here to educate me on how this is done as i just ain't figured this weed out yet here in hooterville.

Browneye probably applied some pre-emergent (maybe even kitty litter if he went for the placebo effect) and called it good.

        Dallisgrass

        Steve,

I want to start off by saying that I have not been in the fert & squirt bussiness very long, but I am going to say bull sheeot on the controlling of dallisgrass with a granular. As you can see I am in the same state as, no brown lawn. Now with the info he has supplied, in a different thread he must be located on the other side of the state from me. Now in my area we have 99% of bermuda/zoysia. I have the luxury of being able (for the time being) to use heavy doses of MSMA. But I picked up a lawn that was ate up with Dallisgrass earlier in the year and guess what it still has some in it. So I am just calling it like I see it.

But I am going to do every one here a favor. I have a buddy that has been spraying for 25 years that has helped me a bunch. I know that he will know exactly what no brown is using and will tell me. Oh by the way I mow some lawns he sprays and guess what they have a little dallisgrass in them also.

        I will report back later.

                    I don't care

                    No Brown

I could care less who you are. I always PM any one I see from the state, I always try to network with people in the same area, or bounce different ideas off of them or lend them my ideas. If you will look at my post count and how long I have been here I don't say alot just to spout off.

But after reading some of your post here, I can honestly say I don't give a fat rats a$$ who you are.

So go back to your own little world and mow a lawn on a diagonal cut that is so pleasing to you, and give away free treatments on a 45 dollar lawn while trying to control a tough weed.

Holding one's composer as you have wasn't easy was it?

As for getting to know me.......................................If, you think you know me in the world. Stop, and let's talk shop over coffee.

                      As for the thread.
                      Again, you've mis-interpreted the term.

Broadcasting is what you do when you cover the entire lawn with spray.
If, I hit individually every weed then I would have refered this to Spot spraying.

                      But, I completely understand. (rookie)

Blanket spray is when you cover the entire lawn with spray.

Broadcasting is when you cover the entire lawn with a granular product.

Now you know. Please do not use the two terms interchangeably.

Well it looks like MM and Steve-o got you before I could. Thanks guys!!!

As for holding my composure your right I didn't. I just call it like I see it. If you don't like it that is just tough.

And as for calling me a rookie at he end of your post, If I was you I would study what I was spewing out of my mouth. Its kinda like the old saying, It is better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt.

                            Again have a great day.

i'm not trying to stick up for no brown here at all but are you saying theres something wrong with diagonal cuts?

i use 4 cut patterns on most of my lawns, horizontal, vertical, diagonal one way and diagonal the other way.

it's good for the grass. makes it stand up straigher......
