  • Edumakation finally pays off?

I worked my magic and landed myself a rather upscale residential maintenance gig. 10,000 SF lawn to be mowed with 21" mower only, aggressive lawn fert program due to existing trees/soil, loads of boxwood shearing, among other 'stuff'. Client's deciding factors: hort edumakation w/ field experience. This will be a real challenge for me, ain't some dust bucket deal. Only problem is weekly maintenance on a formal rose garden, and I despise roses. Pictures to follow at a later date. :alien::alien::alien:

You are in for a world of hurt young man.

Anytime a pill tells me what type of equipment I should be using I tell them to buy that equipment and hire a "school" boy.

This gig will pay extremely well. Not even comparable to your average lawn gig. :alien::alien::alien:

I normally think that way myself, but if he is talking about obsene money, then I would allow such a reversal in thought to do it. Afterall, rich people usually get their way anyway.

Looks like all those hrs in those air conditioned school rooms finally paid off for you.

Its gonna be hot this summer drink plenty of water and keep your hand pruners sharpened up like a good pro.

Now all you gotta do is get the pool service and you have the place all to yourself.

                    Yeah yeah yeah...

I don't mind playing the role of personal gardener. At least it pays hella lots better than dust bucket mowing crap does. This is some gig you can actually take a great deal of pride into. :alien::alien::alien:

I'm trying to lure a hort student to come work for me. I plan to limit myself from the mowing this summer as much as possible and focus on the sideline work to better line the pockets. :alien::alien::alien:

I have one of those yards,, I do whatever I want just as long as it stays purdy. I get maybe 3 interactions with the person in charge of the property (homeowner doesn't live there). and gavin,, I put in my own rose garden and I'm getting ready to expand it. Do you know what roses u have?

why would you lure a hort student to mow lawns. Your much better off going to McDonald and picking the best 18 year old employee they have (and they will have one or 2) and hiring them to mow.

My hope is for them to enjoy working for me so much they decide to stay around after graduation and work their way up the ranks. White trash from McDonalds hold no hope other than temporary labor relief. :alien::alien::alien:

i didnt say white trash, you find the young clean cut hard worker from any fast food joint and no matter how bad you treat them, working for you is better then fast food. Plus it is 100 times better to get someone who knows nothing and training them your way then it is to get someone who thinks they know everything and trying to fix everything they know.
