  • what size trailer

I was wondering what size trailer everyone was using. It is funny all the different types and sizes I see on the street these days.

I am using an 8' X 12' trailer with 4.5' mesh sides and drop gate. I have had it for about 2 months and I have already outgrown it. I would suggest getting a larger one.

I started with a 4x8 my first year and moved to a 6.5x12 my second year, and my third year I bought a 6.5x16 i should of bounght it in the first place. i do still use the 6.5x12 for my second crew but it is tight.

18 foot seems to be the best. I've have 12, 16, & 20 footers. 16 seems to short, 12 is perfect for a small 2 man crew with 2 mowers, 20 is too long. 18 holds 3 full size mowers, plus pushers, etc. Make sure you get brakes, they make pulling much more enjoyable. Side gates also have made a big difference for me. Front mower can come off without moving back 2.

I used a 20ft with 4' grass collection container on the front. I just out grew the trailer this year, moving up to a 28' with the same container on front, but still have room for my Dixon 6025 w/49" deck and collection system, and also my new JD F687 with 60" deck and collection system.

7 x 16. 2' solid sides. Ramp gate in back (with homemade spring kit, awesome!), side ramp gate.

I'm using a 5x10 now. Will be moving up to a 6x14 later this year. Would like to have a 6.5x16 but won't have enough room under the carport to park it.

                      I use a 6.5'x12, a 7x20', these are open trailers, and recently purchased a 8.5x25' enclosed v-nose.
