  • How Often Do You Switch Your Pattern?

how often do you guys switch up from vertical, horizontal, or angle patterns?

does anyone besides me find that when they switch to an angle pattern that there are a lot of stragglers sticking up? from the tire tracks i think, maybe i should swith my patterns more often?
If you want the customers you don\'t have, take care of the ones you do have.

I try to switch patterns every two weeks but at-least once a month. I normally don't do to much as far a the angle pattern. I normally run diagonally, vertically and then follow the contour of the lawn and work my way in. These three usually work okay. When I do go at angles, very seldom, I haven't noticed any difference as far as a straggler problem.

For my thicker lawns I usually switch every other time. For the thinner ones...every time.

A lot just depends on the lawn. For lawns with softer ground, we definately switch every time we mow it, especially if we are using a heavy ZTR. For normal lawns it's usually every other time or so will suffice.

I always switch my pattern every service unless there is just a long strip that would take too much time to mow any other way than mowing the length of it. there are guys in my town that take their mowers over and over the same tracks the made the last time they mowed. they don't swith their pattern ever, and you can see it. it's ugly once the ruts start showing up.
