  • Scag Tiger Cub questions

We just bought a tiger cub, and we have a couple of questions.

Right now the grass is pretty think and we're having a lot of clumping problems. One house is really bad, so we've been mowing it 2 times a week. Still clumping. Is it a blade problem or what?? Any suggestions??

    ALSO

We do a LOT of leaf business in the fall. We looked into the bagger for this model and I believe it only had a 3-bushel capacity. Do any of you use the bagger? Is this the way to go, or should we look into getting a Trac Vac? To give you an idea of our area...Lots and Lots of HUGE maple trees that we'll be dealing with in the fall. No curb-side leaf pick up here, so we'll be collecting them and taking them to the dump. Suggestions on this??

    Thanks!

What kind of blades do you have on it?Scag oem solid foil high lifts ,regular lift or gators.
Ived used a tiger cub and have gotten great results with the solid foil high lifts.

The bagger for the cub they have two .One is a 3 bag 10 bushel capacity with 3 seperate cloth bags. The one we bought was 1600 bucks installed. It does great on fall leaves. The fan is run by a spindle driven blower
The other is a dump from the seat clamshell bagger.
Go to www.scag.com and get info on the two baggers.

We just got the mower, so we're using whatever blades came with it.

The bagging system that you're talking about sounds like it's just what we need. Hop we're able to get one before fall. Does it clog up at all?

Can you give me a little more info on the types of blades in your post? I've heard of the gator blades beofre, but don't know much about them.

If your useing the ones that came stock they are regular lift.We have been useing solid foil high lift and they do reduce clumping.
Dont think id put doubles on the cub the electric clutch is to weak.

As far as the bagger plugging it has to be extremely wet leaves to plug it up.
