How bad does it look? Heres a tip, make sure the trimmer line never hits the house at all, keep it just enough away form the house. You can also try to make a custom attachment to your trimmer using a bracket and a piece of plexy glass so you can see what your doing. If you need a tempary fix you can get pieces of cardboard or other light material and have some one hold it to the side of the house as you trim.

      re:white house

yea sounds good i will try that, im not hitting the house its just the grass hitting house when I am trimming and it stains house,
gonna hit the garage and try to make some kind of hybrid blocker device for homes like those.

wish they would just paint the damn house,,,,,,,ha

Sometimes using the blower will knock the grass off of the house. If it is only one side and you are that concerned, take the hose and wash it off after you are finished. It will take as much time to attach a guard to your trimmer as it would to spray down the house. Just my opinion.

think its because the grass was damp, gonna do house at end of day instead of first thing in morning when its dewy, think that will be the key, thanks for all the advice guys.

You're probably trimming in the wrong direction, or too fast.

When trimming against a house, the grass should be hitting you in the legs, not the house. Straight shaft trimmers should be used from right to left on stationary objects and flower beds. And left to right on sidewalks while standing on the sidewalk.

Not sure if that is the answer or not, but I see people trimming backwards alot.

If it is a curved shaft, the line probably turns the opposite direction, so flip flop what I just said.

Ditto S2K. When trimming a lawn, the clippings should go onto the lawn, not onto the house, shrub beds, sidewalks, parking lots. If the trimmings are going into those locations you are creating more time & work for the blowing. And time is money.
