i am working on a bid for summer and winter grounds care. need some help with the sanding of the driveways and parking lot not sure what sand cost one is about 4000 sq ft the other is about 5000 and one at 20000sq ft

Sand is pretty cheap. It's the equipment you need, getting up at 2:00 AM, keeping records, insurance etc. that really makes up the expense of sanding. Studies have shown that sand only provides traction for the first few vehicvles that pass over it, then it has been pushed off target or ground into the snow\ice and is then not providing anymore traction. At the minimum I would suggest at least applying a salt\sand mix if the client is insisting on sand. That way at least the salt in the mix will be helping to melt down the real problem of the ice\snow. I only apply straight salt so I can't tell you what the sand application rates are to help you with pricing it. FWIW that area would need about 150 - 200 pounds of salt per application, based on conditions.BRL
