price for bidding city weed cutting by SQ FT.

Hello,
I will be bidding on a city conract for weed and grass cutting.The city wants this bid by the sq ft and on a small, med, lg bases.
Small =0- 3500 Sq ft
Med =3500- 11000 Sq ft
Lg =11000 or Greater
Some of these lots have weeds that are 4' feet to 8' feet high. I will be useing a tractor and brush hog to cut the lots, this will just be cutting. So if you have any in put on how I would go priceing this please HELP.This needs to have a sq ft price for each group small, med , lg.This will be in the state of MO. Thanks for your help.

ask for a copy of last years bids to get you started.
The last and only time I persued county/city/state work I asked for a copy of last years bids and it listed five companies and their bidding prices per category.
These type of contracts are strickly low bid. They also have guidelines that you'll have to follow and criterias to meet. Yellow lights on vehicles, company name on driver side door (standard DOT stuff)reflector vests, park on this side of the street, mow with traffic-never against, Can't mow prior to this hour or after this one, etc...
